Affordable Entertainment for All Ages and Interests Whatever the Weather! We provide a short train ride in historic narrow-gauge railway carriages out to and back from Pen-y-Mount station, with, on the way back, a stop of around half an hour to explore our extensive all weather, hands-on railway heritage centre, and opportunities to ride on our miniature railway. The train departs from Porthmadog (WHHR) Station, just across the road from Porthmadog’s main line (Cambrian Coast) railway station, and gets back in about an hour. It is hauled by a steam locomotive when enough volunteer staff are available, otherwise or at quieter times by a diesel locomotive. Before and after the trip you can also visit our shop, which is well stocked with gifts, toys, railway models and books, and Russell’s Café, which serves freshly prepared food and drink. A car park is available free of charge to visitors, although it can get full at busy times. Train services for 2023 operate from early April through
